From the 26th to the 28th July 2017, the Durban Exhibition Centre will become home to the Kwazulu-Natal Industrial Technology Exhibition (KITE), an annual expo that showcases the country and, in particular, the province’s array of industrial services and technology. The event establishes a prominent platform upon which professionals, companies, and organizations in South Africa can network, share ideas, source products and services, and learn from industry experts.
This annual KZN Industrial Technology Exhibition attracts thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibiting companies. This year, Newland ID, a fast-growing manufacturer of high performance, image-based data collection hardware, will be among the exhibitors. According to the Country Channel Manager for Newland ID, Ramonn Louw: “We will be exhibiting our complete current range in order for potential customers to get a first-hand feel of our products, as well as the opportunity to speak to our professional representatives.”
Currently, event organizers anticipate more than 5,000 visitors and 110 exhibiting companies.

KITE’s 2017 Speakers
The KZN Industrial Technology Exhibition also features a selection of high profile speakers that will be presenting on subjects that are pivotal to industry and technology in South Africa:
Shivani Singh, Advisor to the eThekwini Municipality’s Industrial Sector Support Desk, will be discussing the economic forecast for the remainder of 2017 and the ramifications for the South African manufacturing and industrial sector.
An industry member from the Society for Automation Instrumentation Measurements (SAIMC) will present on some of the top technology trends that are anticipated to play a central role in industrial automation. Subjects focused on include the Industrial Internet of things (IIOT), mobile access to machines and applications, augmented reality and how its making its way onto plant floors, security challenges in industrial automation, and multi-purpose and reprogrammable robotics.
Amelia Naidoo, Productivity SA’s Regional Manager of KwaZulu Natal, will be talking about how the manufacturing industry needs to improve its competitiveness by looking at the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0 and how South Africa can capitalize on this developing phenomenon. And finally, Trevor Tshabangu, the Director of Transcend Corporate Advisors, a leading BEE consulting advisory and training firm, will talk about the benefits and challenges of the BBBEE Codes that have recently been revised by the South African Government.
